While OnePlus has yet to make an official announcement, reports are indicating that the global launch date for the OnePlus 12 is just around the corner. Citing information from Alexander Vanderhaeghe, the Country Manager at OnePlus Benelux, Hardware Info has revealed that the much-anticipated OnePlus flagship is set to be unveiled at a community event in Antwerp, Belgium, on January 23. This aligns with earlier leaks suggesting a late January release.
The OnePlus 12, already launched in China, is expected to make its way to key markets including India, a major hub for OnePlus. Anticipated to be priced between Rs 60,000 to Rs 65,000 in India, the OnePlus 12 surpasses its predecessor, the OnePlus 11, in terms of both features and cost. Its specifications boast of cutting-edge technology, signaling OnePlus’s commitment to staying ahead in the smartphone industry.
The device features a 6.82-inch QHD+ 2K OLED display with a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate, supported by LTPO technology allowing adjustments from 1Hz to 120Hz based on displayed content. Its standout feature is the industry-leading peak brightness of 4,500nits, along with support for Dolby Vision, 10Bit Color Depth, ProXDR, and 2160Hz PWM dimming. Design-wise, it retains the essence of the OnePlus 11 but introduces new color variants.
At its core, the OnePlus 12 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, complemented by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage for enhanced performance. The phone’s Dual Cryo-velocity Cooling system promises an improved gaming experience. The photography department is handled by a triple camera setup, including a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A notable feature is the Rain Water Touch technology, ensuring screen functionality even in wet conditions.
The OnePlus 12 is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, positioning it as a strong contender in the high-end smartphone market.
