Qualcomm Technologies has officially launched its flagship mobile platform, called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, at its annual Snapdragon Summit. This new chipset will be featured in several flagship Android phones, including the OnePlus 12, Realme GT5 Pro, and Xiaomi 14, among others. Additionally, other smartphone brands such as Asus, Honor, Meizu, Nio, Nubia, Redmi, RedMagic, Sony, Vivo, and ZTE will adopt this processor for their flagship devices.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered flagship Android smartphones are expected to be available in the coming weeks.
Similar to other major tech companies, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip brings advanced features like artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, improved camera capabilities, console-like gaming, and high-quality audio. The mobile platform has been specifically designed with generative AI in mind, according to Qualcomm.
Chris Patrick, the senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., stated that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 incorporates high-performance AI throughout the system to provide consumers with premium-level performance and exceptional experiences. He also mentioned that this platform enables users to generate unique content, enhance productivity, and discover breakthrough use cases.
Every year, Qualcomm aims to design leading features and technologies for its latest Snapdragon 8-series mobile platform, which will power the next generation of flagship Android devices. Patrick expressed confidence in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, emphasizing its ability to deliver on these goals.
In related news, Xiaomi 14 is set to be the first device powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The company’s president, William Lu, has confirmed the launch of this model in China. The Xiaomi 14 is scheduled to debut on October 26 as Xiaomi’s next flagship device.
Furthermore, OnePlus and Oppo are also expected to release their respective devices, the OnePlus 12 and the Oppo Find X7 Pro, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
